Use this setup to enrich new deals posted into Slack channels with instant company research. This guide helps you configure Humble AI to automatically fetch background info—saving your team time and making it easier to assess leads collaboratively.

By implementing this Slack integration, you can streamline your deal flow process and ensure your team has immediate context on any company that gets shared in your channels.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

    Install Humble into your Slack workspace

    Go to the Slack installation page

  2. 2

    Create a Slack channel for leads

    Create a channel where leads will be shared (e.g., #inbound-deals)

  3. 3

    For public channels

    Type /humble-settings and hit enter

  4. 4

    For private channels

    First type @humble, hit enter to invite the bot, then run /humble-settings

  5. 5

    Click "Set up helper"

    This will open the helper configuration menu

    Choose the "Lookup Helper"

    Select this option from the available helpers

    Select a mode

    Choose either:

    • On-demand – Only responds when mentioned (@humble)
    • Always-on – Automatically responds to all messages

    Choose the channel to monitor

    Select the channel you created (e.g. #inbound-deals)

    Click "Finish setup"

    Complete the configuration process

Done! Now any company name, email, or website shared in that channel will trigger automatic research.

When to Use Each Mode

On-demand Mode

Best for busy, public channels where people chat and collaborate. Prevents clutter by only responding when mentioned.

Always-on Mode

Best for quiet "log-only" channels where every post is a deal or lead you want enriched.

Managing & Removing Helpers

Need to update or remove a helper?

  1. Type /humble-settings in the relevant channel
  2. Click Manage Helpers
  3. Click Remove next to the one you want to disable
