This guide shows you how to use Humble's browser extension and Airtable integration to let scouts submit founders directly from LinkedIn ā even if the founder is still in stealth.

Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Part 1: Use the Airtable Founder Referral Template
Start with this Airtable base:
š š§© Founder Referral Template (with LinkedIn as Primary Field)
Important: Airtable requires the first field (Primary Field) to be unique and non-empty.
We've already set this to be the LinkedIn URL for each founder.
The table includes:
- LinkedIn URL (Primary Field)
- Full Name
- Location
- Headline
- Scout Notes
- Tags / Stage
- Submitted By
Part 2: Configure the Browser Extension
- Install the Humble Browser Extension
- Click the Humble icon ā Customize
- Click Add New Mini App
- Select Airtable as the connection
- Paste in your Airtable API Key
- Choose the correct base and table
- Select LinkedIn URL as the primary lookup field
- Map the other fields (Full Name, Location, Headline, etc.)
- Click Save and Test
Part 3: Send Slack Notifications for Each New Referral
- Create a Slack channel (e.g.
#founder-deals) - Use Airtable's Slack automation or Zapier
- Trigger a message every time a new row is added
- Include:
- Founder Name + LinkedIn
- Submitted By
- Scout Notes
- Tags / Status

Troubleshooting & Common Questions
š How do I share access with my scouts?
Go to the Sharing tab in your Humble dashboard.
- Select the database (mini app) you want to share
- Paste in one or more scout email addresses (you can add multiple at once)
- Click Invite
To revoke access: just remove them from the shared list ā they'll immediately lose access.
Scouts will never see or access your Airtable API key.
š§© What if my scouts submit duplicates?
The Humble button turns green on LinkedIn if the founder's LinkedIn URL already exists in your Airtable CRM. This helps scouts avoid submitting the same profile twice.
š ļø Can I change which fields scouts see?
Yes ā when setting up the mini app in Humble, you can choose which fields are visible. Click Customize ā Mini App Settings ā toggle visibility for each field. Any changes you make automatically update for all scouts.
š Can scouts view or access my Airtable base?
No. Scouts can only submit to your Airtable via API through Humble. They cannot browse, open, or edit your base directly. All data is protected.
